This book is about a girl called Davis who's dad is killed during a robbery in his shop. It happens in the summer before Davis started high school and in the first three days Davis keeps fainting. The nurse then decides it's time for Davis to see a doctor. When the doctor is finished with Davis he tells her mum that Davis should have a change in scenery to keep her mind off the death. They then go to The Hill. A place in New Mexico where their aunt and uncle live. There Davis goes to school and makes new friends. She also becomes a candystriper at the local hospital where she meets her friend Wolf's dad, who is dying of cancer. After he dies Wolf goes to Spain until spring. Around that time Davis's mother decides to it's time to return home. But she tells Davis that she'll have to sell the apartment above the shop because she can't stand living there anymore.

All American Girl
By Meg Cabot
9.5/10
This book is about a really geeky rebel type girl called Sam (Samantha) and she saves the president from being assassinated. She does it by jumping on the back of the man holding the gun and ends up underneath him. So he lands on Sam's arm and she ends up with a broken wrist. She then ends up famous and her cheerleader sister makes her look better than she normally looks just minutes away from shaking the president's hand and having press conference. My favourite part is when she jumps on the guy's back to stop him killing the president because it's really descriptive.
